Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia ~ Epcot's Flower & Garden Festival

Tiggerific+Tuesday+Trivia Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia: World Showcase Galleries With Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival commencing in just a short time, I thought it fitting to share a fun trivia fact about the festival, which just happens to be one of my favorite times of year to visit!  As always for the Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia Blog Hop, I used my Walt Disney World Fun Facts App to randomly choose a fun tidbit of Disney information.

It takes more than one year and about 24,000 Cast Member hours to prepare for the International Flower and Garden Festival.

Over the years, I have enjoyed all the displays, but this one is by far my favorite.

I have always enjoyed visiting Epcot during the Flower and Garden Festival.  The character topiaries around the park are amazing and never disappoint.  From Lady and the Tramp in Italy to Beauty and the Beast in France and Aladdin in Morocco, the displays cover a wide range of Disney favorites!

Leap Frog Fountains in Epcot's Future World

For my Undiscovered Disney post, I thought this would be a good time to share one of my favorite spots to give my children a break from park touring while in Epcot.  From Emily and Hayley's first trip in 2008 to a very cold, windy trip in 2010 to our Halloween trip in 2011, Leap Frog Fountains, just outside of the Epcot's Imagination Pavilion in Future World, has been one of my children's favorite places to take a break in Epcot.

Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia ~ The First Fireworks Display at Walt Disney World

Tiggerific+Tuesday+Trivia Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia: Main Street Fire Station For this week's Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia, I am sharing a little tidbit from one of my favorite things to see at Walt Disney World that occurred at one of my favorite places to stay.  To find this fun piece of trivia, I used the app, Walt Disney World Fun Facts, to randomly choose what I am sharing.

The first fireworks display at Walt Disney World took place at the official dedication of Polynesian Village Hotel on October 24, 1971.

Today, they do not have a fireworks show from the banks of the Polynesian, but they have something very special.  You can watch the Magic Kingdom's nighttime spectacular, Wishes, from the beach of the Polynesian.  Even better, they pipe the music in so you feel as though you are right there on Main Street, USA enjoying the show.  As a mom of three little ones with early bedtimes, this is a great way to be sure Pierre and I do not miss out on my favorite fireworks display in Walt Disney World.  Plus, it is much easier managing the crowds to get back to your room too!

In Flight Fun for the Kids ~ Disney Themed Play Packs

My daughter, Hayley, loves to color and write. Our refrigerator is one big art museum and our shelves are filled with plenty of the "books" she has created.  She even one day managed to find and use an entire roll of tape and created her very own art gallery in her room.  I don't think you can see an inch of her wall, since it is so covered with all her masterpieces.  So when we travel to Walt Disney World, there is no doubt her carry on is filled with crayons, pencils, all kinds of drawing paper and notebooks, which can get quite heavy.  As you might know already, lots of crayons on those little airplane trays are not always a good idea, unless you have flat edged crayons or some type of case to hold them.  Yes, I am the mom who spends most of the flight under the seats trying to find things that have rolled off the tray into the unknown, especially crayons!

One of the best things I have found to bring in the children's carry ons are the Play Pack Grab and Go that WalMart sells. They have new ones every season with all kinds of characters from Disney to Angry Birds to Super Heroes and more.  In 2011, I was even able to find Mickey and Minnie, as well as Disney princess Halloween-themed play packs for our Halloween trip to Walt Disney World.  They fit perfectly in the kids' carry ons and have just enough items to keep them busy for our flight.
