Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia ~ Kali River Rapids

Tiggerific+Tuesday+Trivia Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia: Disneylands Splash Mountain It's Tuesday and that means it is Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia.  I am joining in this great blog hop because every week I learn a few new pieces of Disney trivia.  To decide what I wanted to share, I used my Walt Disney World Fun Facts app to generate a bit of trivia I thought would be interesting.  I decided to head to Disney's Animal Kingdom this week.

Did you know . . .

The original plans for Kali River Rapids laid out 3 small drops but it didn't seem thrilling enough so they combined those 3 drops into 1 large drop.

Here is Emily (light pink sweatshirt) on her first thrill
ride, and she couldn't have been prouder!

For a personal piece of family trivia, Kali River Rapids is the first "thrill ride" all three of my children rode together.  Emily was just barely tall enough last trip to experience it with Joey, Hayley, Grampa and Pierre!  She was one happy girl to finally be able to do something the "big kids" could do.

Make sure you head over to
to see what new tidbit of Disney trivia you can learn today!

We took Ashley on it on our very first family trip to Disney. She had just recently turned 5 and the ride wasn't even officially open yet. She just happened to be in the seat that gets super soaked. It was not a HOT day either. I felt awful, but she took it all in stride. In fact, since that trip, she's the only one in our family who has gotten back on it! LOL

If they would have just stayed with the 3 drops maybe I would get a bit less wet???? Anyone know why the tube spins so that I'm always at the bottom at the big drop? Now that is a fact I would like to know.

My favorite Kali trivia is that they were originally going to line it with the Tigers.. until someone pointed out that Tigers love water.. whoops! I do love that ride, though :)

This is by far one of fun-est rides in AK! Especially when someone gets soaked (although if it's someone who's not in your party it's hard to stifle a laugh!!) xx

The first time my dad and husband went on it, my dad was the one who got soaked. I thought that might turn him off to experiencing it again, but it didn't! He loves taking the grandkids, which leaves me nice and dry while I take pictures from the bridge! :-)

Thanks for hosting! I know I missed last week, but I am loving all the trivia!

Well, wouldn't that have put the term "thrill" in thrill ride! :-)

LOL, my dad would be wondering the same thing. It is always him. :-)

I have never ridden it. I hate being wet and I know my luck, I'd be the one getting soaked! :-)
