|Pierre & Emily after dinner at|
Biergarten in World Showcase
We have decided that the Wednesday night of our vacation, my parents are going to watch the kids so that Pierre and I can make our way to Epcot . . . . alone! If you are in World Showcase on November 2nd, we will be the 2 giddy parents who haven't been out on a date night in over a year. That's right - a year! So in order to take full advantage of this opportunity, we are making a drastic change to our advanced dining reservations (ADRs). We are canceling out ADR for LeCellier. Our thoughts being that LeCellier is there year round. We can always have dinner there on another trip, but we do not know when we will be back in October to experience the Food and Wine Festival. Even better, Epcot will be open until midnight the night we are there.
So since we haven't been before we have been checking out a lot of information on the Internet to make sure we are prepared and make sure we do not miss out on anything. We also have started to make a mental list of all the things that we know we want to try. Here is tops for me (though my list is extensive!):
Steamed Mussels with Roasted Garlic Cream
Belgium Waffle with Berry Compote
Tuna Poke with Seaweed Salad
Kalua Pork Slider
I could keep going but these are the things that I know I absolutely have to try!
If you are looking for more information, here are some of the articles I have found that have been very informational:
- Disney Parks: Festival Guidemap (includes map, as well as menu for each booth) I've spent a lot of time perusing the menus on here and plotting my strategy!
- A World View: 16th Annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival by the Numbers This is a fun one! I am a numbers person, so loved seeing all the "stats" of the festival.
- Cooking with Mickey: Ten Tips for Visiting the Food and Wine Marketplaces I am memorizing every one of these! Great tips, especially for first timers like me! Kristen actually has a LOT of of Food and Wine Festival information on her site, so make sure you take some time to check it out!
Have you been to Epcot's Food and Wine Festival before? What is your best tip for us or your favorite dish that you think we just HAVE to try?
