Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Premiere This Weekend!

Photo from Hallmark.com - if you go to their website
there is a video of the "magic" feature for this
particular ornament (as well as many other)
There is one thing I love as much as Disney, and that is Christmas!  I wait all year for July to come because it is one of the month of one of my favorite events and it is happening this weekend.  Saturday is Hallmark's Keepsake Ornament Premiere.  On the first weekend, they offer Special Edition ornaments, though all are cute, my favorites are the Disney and Star Wars items.  I am very excited about all the great Disney ornaments available, though I am disappointed in the Special Edition offering, which is Look Who's Pook-a-Looz.  I've purchased the Disney limited edition ornament every year, but will be skipping it this year.  But if you love Pook-a-Looz, you'll love it!

The ornament premiere is a family event.  I bring all the children to the premiere and they are each allowed to choose one ornament they like.  Joey has already let me know he will be buying the Cars 2 one.  The girls have plenty of choices too - Rapunzel, Belle, Cinderella, Woody and Buzz.  After they each choose the one they want, I choose one for each of them that represent something they have loved or experienced over the year.  Usually these represent a birthday party theme or a family tradition they love.  These ornaments are then hidden away until our Trim-a-Tree Day (yes, it is an entire day, that of course, I go completely overboard for).  The ornament they chose is the first ornament they each put on the tree.  It has been a tradition since I was little and I love sharing it with my children.

For my husband, even he gets an ornament.  This year the children have already decided that The Muppets Beaker ornament, in which he "sings" Ode to Joy is the one we are getting him.  For me, my mom has been purchasing the Mickey's Christmas Carol series of ornaments.  This year is the release of Goofy as Jacob Marley.  I love this series and look forward every year to see which character will be released.

If you are a Star Wars Fan, make sure you head over to my post at Jedi Mouseketeer.  I have all the details of this year's Star Wars ornaments, as well as the Special Edition ornament that will only be available this weekend, July 16th and 17th.

Head over to the Hallmark website to see all the great ornaments.  I can't wait!  When I get back from the ornament premiere Saturday, I will let you know which ornaments we purchased!

Mary - I am so happy to have company! I spend way too much at the ornament premiere, but oh well, it makes our trim-a-tree day so fun! We love all the Muppet ones. We have Animal (plays drum music), the Swedish Chef, Waldorf and Statler. We get the Muppet one every year.

Sarah - There is also a spy agent Mater! I am sure we will "have" to have both! :-)

I am going to have to visit Hallmark now. I think I need to start a new tradition, I didn't realize they had so many awesome Disney ornaments.

Hey Beth! Great post :)

I used to work at Hallmark and this was one of the most fun times of the year. I'll have to start saving up to get some of the great ornaments this year.

Melissa - They have so many every year, that I really have to contain myself from buying them all! LOL!

I can't wait for Saturday though! It is so fun. Our Hallmark does such a great job setting the Christmas mood. Even better, I just received $12 in Hallmark Rewards checks! :-)
