100 Things to Do in Disney

About a month ago, my kids and I were talking a lot about our Disney trip, which isn't until October.  Joey asked if we could take out our Countdown to Disney chart we made last year.  Since that only counts down the last 25 days, I decided to come up with a way to countdown 100 days until our trip.  One of the recurring themes of our Disney talks had to do with the new attractions my children are finally tall enough to ride.  I decided to use that idea and create our 100 Things To Do in Disney series to countdown our 100 days until the trip. The kids have added their favorites to our list, as well as my husband and I.

Our actual 100th day out was Thursday, but due to some extenuating circumstances, our kick off has been delayed.  As a result, I am going to catch us up by including two a day over the next couple of days.  Then each day will add just one thing from our list.  These will be in no particular order over the next few months, just our random thoughts of what we are looking forward to in Walt Disney World.

Emily loves Mikey's Premium
Ice Cream Bars

#100: Mickey's Premium Ice Cream Bars ~ Emily loves these, and Grampa makes sure he spoils her (as well as Joey and Hayley) with these delicious treats.  You can see what else we use these for in my post Mickey's Premium Ice Cream Bars ~ The Perfect Cure for . . .

Joey's 1st Tip on
Splash Mountain
#99: Splash Mountain ~ This trip all three of my children will be tall enough for Splash Mountain.  Joey experienced it for the first time in 2010.  Hayley was tall enough, but refused to ride.  Come to find out, she thought when you got to the bottom of the hill that you landed in the briar patch with the thorns.  All the Splash Mountain talk just proves that my post A Future First in Frontierland? may not need the question mark on it anymore.

Make sure you keep checking in to see what we are looking forward to in Walt Disney World and to help us countdown to our trip.  It will be here before we know it!

We actually hung our list on the fridge and the kids are constantly adding things. It is so cute some of the things they remember and want to do again! Plus, we practice writing too, though Emily draws pictures of what she wants to do. It has turned into a great family project and a nice distraction from everything that is going on around here. :-)

Cool idea! Even though I've been to the parks many times in my life, I had my first Mickey ice cream bar on my last trip in 2008. They are awesome! Hopefully, I'll get to have 1 or 2 (or 3 or 4) on our trip in 30 days!

The best part about this is that my kids remember things that I thought would have no impact on their trips to Disney. Plus, listening to them reminisce about certain things just warms my heart. It makes me realize that I am not forcing them to be Disney fanatics! :-)

Love this idea! Last trip I did not have a Mickey Ice Cream Bar, but hope to fix that in a few weeks. Splash Mountain will forever look different to me thanks to getting stuck going up the big hill in March. We were on the ride for over 30 minutes and I sat there Tweeting to friends to remain calm.
