100 Things to Do in Disney ~ #94

Here we are in 2008 when we were chosen as the
first family. Left to right: Emily, Me, Joey, Grammie,
Hayley, my nephew and my sister in law

There is one thing Hayley must do every single trip to Walt Disney World, and it is the one thing that comes up in any Disney conversation we have ~ Playhouse Disney Live, though now it is called Disney Junior Live.  Recently when I asked Hayley about it, she told me that she loves Mickey and is going to marry him someday.  I had no idea that Mickey was her Prince Charming until I participated in Destination Disney (hosted by Heidi at Ramblings, Reflections and Reviews).  Hayley is probably one of the biggest fans of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  She sings the songs and is always interacting with the show from yelling "Oh Toodles" (even when trying to figure something out around the house) to yelling "Meeska, Mooska, Mickey Mouse" all around the yard.  She claps, sings and dances throughout the show.  The smile on her face really says it all.

We have been lucky enough to be picked two of the three times we have seen this show as the first family in.  This means we lead the way into the theater and had front row "seats."  If you have never seen this show, be prepared.  You sit on the floor.  It isn't the most comfortable for adults, but for kids who are up and down dancing, clapping and popping bubbles it is perfect.

Bear in the Big Blue House was part of the show
when we visited in 2006
The show has changed over the years.  When we took my son in 2006 when he was just 14 months, Bear in the Big Blue House was part of the show, Joey's favorite at the time, as well as the characters from Stanley, Jo Jo's Circus, and My Friends Tigger and Pooh.  The last time we saw the show, it included characters from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins, Handy Mandy and (I think) My Friends Tigger and Pooh.  This year they have added new characters from Jake and the Neverland Pirates, which is a new favorite show of my kids.  They find pretend golden dooubloons all around the house and yard.  I can only imagine how excited they will be when golden doubloons are falling from the sky all around them.

Of course, I haven't seen this new addition yet, but my friend Sarah at Magical Days with the Mouse has lots of details of the new Disney Junior Live show, as well as great photos of the show!  Her post details the Disney Junior Live Show at DCA, though I believe the version at Disney's Hollywood Studios is similar if not the same. Make sure you check out her blog - she is a great resource for anyone planning a trip to Disneyland!
