In Flight Fun for the Kids ~ Magnetic Dolls

The four sets, front (top row) and back (bottom row)

In Flight Fun for the Kids is my new series of articles about items I find that can occupy my children's time on a flight that are easy to manage and keep organized.  Last week, I shared Disney magnetic drawing pads I found at a local department store.  This week I am sharing Disney Magnetic Dolls.

We have four sets of these magnetic dolls: Beauty and the Beast, Tinker Bell, Cinderella and The Little Mermaid.  Each set comes in a tin with the Princess or Tinker Bell on the front and their Princes on the back (Fawn is on the back of Tinker Bell's).  The clothing and accessories are magnetic and stay in place in the tin.  Each doll comes with several outfits.  Included with the clothing are several of the key characters and elements in the stories.  For example, the Beauty and the Beast set has three outfits for Belle, Mrs. Potts, Chip, Lumiere, Cogsworth and several items from the Be Our Guest sequence during the movie, including the twirling napkins.

I will admit that though I love these, there are so many little pieces that I actually keep some ofthe smallest ones stored away.  With Emily being just three, they can be easily swallowed or lost.  I keep just the clothes and a few of the extra characters in each tin.  When the girls are a little older, I will keep adding a few of the accessories to each set until eventually all the pieces are in one.

One of the best things about these magnetic dolls are the tin containers.  All the extra pieces stay in place in the container while the girls are playing with them, even if they tip them upside down.  Like I mentioned in my past article, one of the things I like to avoid on the airplane is constantly looking under the seat for the kids' toys that are dropped.

Santa delivered these sets to us for Christmas this past year, but if you are looking to purchase some, I saw them at Lakeside Collection and ABC Distributing for $4.95 each.  I've only seen the four we have (Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and Tinker Bell), but I am always on the look out for more.  These are great for the flight and are so easy to keep organized.

you are too good. I don't see us flying with the kids anytime soon, but when we do, I'll be contacting you!! :)

My kids have flown several times, not just to Disney, but also to Texas where my brother lives. The flight to TX is so long. I was completely unprepared the first time we flew with all three. Let's just say that flight was motivation to never be unprepared again! LOL! I have a lot more coming too! :-)

I found a couple of those in the Jacksonville airport last month and I let my daughter choose. She chose the Princess Tiana/Prince Naveen one. She loved playing with it on the plane to California! I, too, kept some of the smaller pieces somewhere else since she is only 2 1/2.

I had no idea there was a Tiana one! She is Emily's favorite princess. I will definitely be on the look out for that! Thank you!

I've never seen these. They really would be great traveling entertainment and so easy to carry along. Good find!

Great stuff as usual, Beth!! I wish you'd started this series sooner so I could see all your great finds before our trip this weekend, lol!

I can't wait to read about your trip! I hope you have a great time!!

By the way, I still haven't cut the magnetic drawing pads off the books, but I think today is the day - I'll let you know how it goes! I keep putting it off for fear of ruining them, but my dad has assured me they won't be ruined. :-)

They are so great, Sammy Kay! We bring these everywhere that my kids are going to waiting. They are especially great in the waiting room of the pediatrician!
