Mickey's Premium Ice Cream Bar ~ The Perfect Cure for a Skinned Knee or Two

The first morning of our trip to Walt Disney World in 2010 started off with some tears.  Not from a tantrum, not from being over tired, but from a major wipe out in the parking lot of Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.  We were on our way to catch a bus to Magic Kingdom.  The bus arrived, and we picked up our pace to try to catch it.  Well, Grampa forgot he was holding Emily's hand and picked up the pace a little too quickly for her little legs.  She fell and skinned her knee.  I am not sure who was more upset, Grampa or Emily.  Emily quickly recovered, but I think even now a year later, Grampa still feels a little guilty.

We made our way to Fantasyland to ride the kids' favorite attractions.  As Joey and Hayley rode Dumbo, Emily decided to spend some time with Grammie.  As she played with Grammie off to the side of Dumbo, she tripped and skinned her other knee.  Grampa had the perfect solution, he headed to a snack cart and purchased a Mickey Premium Bar for each of the kids.  Emily immediately felt better.  So you may already know this, but on our last trip, we discovered Mickey's Premium Ice Cream Bars to be the perfect cure for a skinned knee or two.

I have also found that those Mickey Bars are great for sore and tired feet too. Buy one and sit down somewhere, people watch, and snack on your ice cream. It takes a while for the ice cream to get to that point where you can actually eat it ( coming from the deep freeze ) and when your all done, your ready to go again. It's Mickey Magic.

You are so right! It has cured many an issue on our trips. It is nice that Disney has those carts in such convenient places . . . everywhere you turn! :-)

Awwww look at her little knees!! Love this post as I have a similar story. My little guy had to have blood work done, he cried the whole way home pointing to the spot they took the blood. Since we live near Disneyland I decided he needed to be cheered up. As soon as we drove by, he started to stop the tears but still looked sad. We went into DCA, and I bought him a mickey cookie. He forgot all about the blood work. Ahhh the power of the mouse. Such a cute post Beth!

Thanks, Sarah! Poor Emily had a rough day that day, but it all worked out in the end! :-)

I agree, the mouse is a powerful thing and I am so thankful for that! Too bad we don't live closer the one of the theme parks, I could use that for all types of remedies! LOL!

It is so funny because I remember this exact moment taking her picture. Why in all the moments on a Disney vacation this one is so memorable? I don't know, but she just had a rough (though fun) day! :-)

That is such a great picture! The last place you want to see your child have a rough day is at Disney! Good thing those Mickey Bars are never too far away!
