Vacation Planning is in the Air!

My Countdown Chart**
As we turn the corner to the new year, my family and I are beginning our plans for our next trip to WDW.  As you may have read from my previous posts, we all travel together.  When I say all, I mean my parents, my brother, sister-in-law, two nephews, my husband, my three children and myself.  We will be a Grand Gathering of 11 this time around.  There will be many firsts for this trip:

1. We will be traveling during December.  We have never been during the holidays because before being a stay at home mom, I was a teacher.  There was just no way I could take time off from work to make a trip south at this time of year.

2. We will be celebrating Emily's 4th birthday while in WDW.  We have never celebrated anyone's birthday in all the trips we have made to WDW.  She has already requested to eat with the princesses, so our tentative plan is breakfast with the princesses either at Cinderella's Royal Table in the castle or Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway Pavilion.  Then dinner will be with the Fab 5 at Chef Mickey's.

3. We will be introducing our newest member of the family to WDW and celebrating my nephew's first trip to WDW.  He will be 1.5 at the time of the trip ~ we start them young in our family! :-)

4. Finally, our hope this time around is to try a deluxe resort.  As a family of five, the moderates just won't be big enough for us.  We looked at the Grand Villas at the Disney Vacation Club Resorts, as well as the All Star Vacation Homes, but I think we are going to attempt a resort along the monorail for this trip.  With the kids being at the ages they will, 1.5, 4, 4.5, 5, and almost 7, we figure proximity to Magic Kingdom will be our best bet.

Make sure you keep checking back because I will be posting all our steps to plan our next trip here on my blog!  Walt Disney World here we come ~ Only 340 more days!

**Just a side note, the photo above is a countdown chart I created with my Cricut.  I'll be posting directions to make your own as the time gets closer!

We started our planning more than a year in advance! We are going in September with our 3 kids. I, too, used to be a teacher before I became a SAHM and love going in the off season now that I can.

We did think about renting the points, but we may save that for our next trip. I am very excited to get started. My family lets me be the planner, which of course, I love! I am hoping to make room reservations for the Contemporary or Polynesian within the next day or two. I am hoping there will be some great Disney deals released for December soon.

Jenn - It is amazing how much money we save on Disney vacations now that I am not teaching. It is quite nice!

Exciting stuff!! We'd love to stay at a monorail resort someday (likely the Poly), with the amount of little ones you'll have in tow I think it's a necessity! We did our first December visit this year, and WDW is truly a magical place during the holidays.

Crystal - I am SO looking forward to seeing the parks decorated for the holidays! I've seen your photos and watched things on You Tube, which I love. I figure it looks that great in pics and videos, I can only imagine how gorgeous it looks in person!
