Music to My Ears ~ Disney Music That Is!

My three kids are definitely Disney fans through and through (much to my relief!).  I've written articles already about things we do at home between trips to Walt Disney World to keep Disney magic alive, but listening to Disney music is something we do everyday.  Right now, my kids are in the family room listening, dancing and singing to our favorite Disney CD collection.  It is called Disney's Greatest.  We have all three volumes and I will admit they are our most used CDs in the house, followed closely by The Princess and the Frog Soundtrack.  Not only do we listen to them a lot at home, but whenever we go out and about, we grab a volume and bring it in the car.  The three discs contain songs from classics such as Bambi and Snow White to Toy Story and The Lion King.  We've listened to these so many times that all three of my children can sing just about every song.  It's funny because they knew some of the songs long before they even saw the movies they were a part of.  I must admit that I also love listening to these songs, but that probably didn't need to be said!

Besides giving me many entertaining moments watching the kids sing and dance, I have found that every photo montage I have created, whether it is for a Disney trip or just the yearly one I make of the kids for the grandparents, I have used songs from this collection.  You can check out my You Tube Channel ~ WDW Mom's Family Videos ~ if you want to see some of my previous montages.  These songs bring plenty of emotion to my videos and slideshows.  I have attempted to use non-Disney songs, but honestly, I find they just don't create the emotion I am looking for and I usually end up going back to the Disney songs.

One of my fellow Magical Blogorail members posted a great article about Disney music.  You have to check out Days in the Park, to see what they added to their Disney playlist in their post The Music of the Park Begins at Home.  (Quick side note, Days in the Park is a site I would highly recommend you follow ~ lots of great park info and photos!). I think their playlist includes all of our family's favorites and more!

Now I am searching for the perfect CD of park music.  Do you have a recommendation?  And, yes, I did say CD.  I have yet to give up the actual purchasing of a CD in order to download a song.  I guess I am old school.  One of these years I'll turn to downloading, but for now, I am all about the CDs!

By the way, here are the links to see the playlists of each volume:
Disney's Greatest, Volume 1
Disney's Greatest, Volume 2
Disney's Greatest, Volume 3

I love to listen to my Disney music, but to be honest, I haven't bought a CD in years. I'll give you one reason why you might want to consider downloading. A lot of times I haven't been able to find a whole CD of different Park related Disney music, but a lot of times you might be able to find one or two songs that you want. For example, one of the things I wanted to do before our last trip in June was to make a playlist for my iPod of Disney Attractions Songs. I was able to hunt around and find songs such as the Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room, It's a Small World, There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow, and others. One other thing is that I was able to find the music of the Sherman Brothers on iTunes. I'm not certain if you could find that on CD.

Thanks, Mike! I definitely need to check out downloading songs. These cds I listed above do have some songs from the attractions, but definitely not all of them (I just edited the post to link to the playlists for each cd).
