|Much like her big brother, Joey, Emily loves all her|
Toy Story friends and can't rest without them!
In the meantime, here are a few magical moments that have happened here at home that convince me that we are definitely a Disney Family:
1. Most exciting on the list is Emily. The other morning the kids were watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Playhouse Disney. The kids love the show, and, honestly, so do I! As Mickey strolled onto the screen, Emily yelled out "KEY!" Now, she is only 15 months and starting to say many new words, but a Disney word is VERY exciting. My nephew calls Mickey "Mick," so I guess we need to get these two together!
2. With the recent release of Pinocchio, my kids have finally seen the movie. My four year old son, Joey, made my heart melt when he was singing along with the theme song - "When You Wish Upon a Star." Plus, it made me realize how much he will love the Wishes Fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom. On the last trip, the kids were all too young (and tired) to be awake long enough to see it.
3. I ordered my 2009 copies of "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World" and Steve Birnbaum's "Official Guide to Walt Disney World." I can't wait to get them! I know they are mostly the same as last year, but I am excited to read about some of the new additions to Walt Disney World, such as the new vacation club villas at the Contemporary, Animal Kingdom Lodge and Saratoga Springs. Of course, we're more of a moderate type family and probably could never afford to stay there, but I can dream, right?!
4. Finally, something I am very excited about is a Walt Disney World Recipe group I joined. All these Disney fans have come together and posted their favorite recipes they have collected from cookbooks and restaurants at Walt Disney World and posted them all in one spot. It is so fun to find something that you loved while on vacation that you can make at home. I am helping to moderate this group and keep the recipes organized for easier access. Send me an e-mail or post a comment, and I can send you a link to the group. One of the recipes I just submitted was the Pina CoLAVA from the Banana Cabana at the Caribbean Beach Resort - delicious! It is almost like a Lava Flow but made with raspberries rather then strawberries.
There are so many ways to keep the Disney magic alive at home. Little things happen here all the time that remind me of things we saw in Disney or make me even more excited for our next trip. Feel free to share any special Disney moments you've experienced to keep the magic alive between trips!
